Every feature, at a glance
Everything Unbit can do, grouped by what you want to do.
Opening your drive
Password or recovery key
Type the password or the 48-digit key, paste it, or drop the key file from Windows.
Clear progress
See each step while the drive opens, and get a plain explanation and a fix if something fails.
Several drives at once
Open more than one drive, each with its own usage and activity.
Opens known drives automatically
Optional, using the code saved in your keychain, and with Touch ID if you like.
Notifications
Hear when a drive connects, opens or can't be opened.
Finder and last folder
Optionally open Finder when the drive opens, and return to the last folder you used.
Try a demo drive
A built-in, made-up drive with sample files lets you see how Unbit works without a real BitLocker drive.
Find and copy files
Search the drive
Look up file and folder names, and preview results with Quick Look.
Copy basket
Collect files from the search results and copy them to your Mac in one go.
Favorites and recent files
Jump to your favorite folders and the files you used last.
Copy to Mac
Choose what happens when a file already exists: ask, rename or skip.
Copy only what changed
Skip identical files, so copying a folder again only brings what is new.
Verify copies
An optional SHA-256 check of every copied file, with a clear Verified status.
Copy report
See what was copied, skipped or failed, and save the report as a file.
Speed and time left
Follow MB/s and the estimated time remaining in the panel and the menu bar.
Drag files out
Drag files from the search results, recent files or the basket to Finder or into a mail. The drive is only read.
Safe by design
Read-only
Nothing is ever written to your drive.
Safe eject
Eject with one click, and optionally after copying, when the Mac sleeps or locks, or after a period of inactivity.
Drive health warning
Get a warning if the drive itself reports that it is failing.
Cleans up after itself
If Unbit ever quits unexpectedly, leftovers are removed the next time it starts.
Erase all data
One command removes Unbit's settings, saved codes and statistics from this Mac.
Private by default
No accounts, no analytics, and saved codes stay in your keychain.
Menu bar and looks
Live menu bar
A lock icon shows the state, and the percentage while a copy runs.
Icon, colors and size
Choose the icon style, a color theme, the density and the text size; light and dark follow macOS.
Global shortcut
Open the panel from any app with a key combination you choose.
Keyboard shortcuts
Refresh, search, copy and quit without touching the mouse.
Start at login
Optional, so Unbit is ready in the menu bar.
Shortcuts, Siri and Spotlight
Open and eject drives from Shortcuts. Codes are never passed through Shortcuts.
Help and transparency
Errors in plain language
Every error explains what happened and offers the next step, with a help page in your language.
Send an error report
One click opens a pre-filled email with an anonymous report. You decide whether to send it.
