The drive has no recovery key
What it means
The drive has no recovery key. Use the password instead.
What to try
- On a Windows PC, open the drive’s BitLocker settings (right-click the drive and choose Manage BitLocker).
- Add a password and save a recovery key for the drive. Unbit can’t use the TPM, smart cards or startup key files.
- Plug the drive into the Mac again and open it with the new password or recovery key.
Still stuck?
In Unbit, open the gear menu and choose Copy Error Report, then include it when you ask for help. It contains no passwords, drive names or file paths.
