Wrong password
What it means
Wrong password. Check for typos and Caps Lock and try again, or unlock with the recovery key instead.
What to try
- Check the password for typos and make sure Caps Lock is off.
- Use the 48-digit recovery key instead. It’s in the Microsoft account that encrypted the drive, on a printout, or in a .txt file saved when BitLocker was turned on. Every drive has its own.
- If a code you saved in Unbit stopped working, choose Enter New Code and type the current one.
Still stuck?
In Unbit, open the gear menu and choose Copy Error Report, then include it when you ask for help. It contains no passwords, drive names or file paths.
