Only a startup key, smart card or TPM

What it means

This drive can only be unlocked with a startup key file, a smart card or the TPM, which Unbit can't use. On a Windows PC, add a password or recovery key to the drive (Manage BitLocker), then try again.

What to try

1. On a Windows PC, open the drive’s BitLocker settings (right-click the drive and choose Manage BitLocker).
2. Add a password and save a recovery key for the drive. Unbit can’t use the TPM, smart cards or startup key files.
3. Plug the drive into the Mac again and open it with the new password or recovery key.

In Unbit, open the gear menu and choose Copy Error Report, then include it when you ask for help. It contains no passwords, drive names or file paths.
